# Why ActivityFi? (/why-activity)

## What ActivityFi is [#what-activityfi-is]

ActivityFi turns onchain activity into rewards and tokens. Zaps is the launchpad for both: campaigns reward real activity, and zTokens spawn from it.

## Attention versus activity [#attention-versus-activity]

<Versus before="{ label: 'Attention Markets', steps: ['Followers · Posts · Impressions', 'Mindshare'] }" after="{ label: 'ActivityFi', steps: ['Fees · Trades · Liquidity · Borrowing · Usage', 'Economic contribution'] }" />

Onchain economies are unusually measurable. Trading, lending, liquidity, payments and participation leave verifiable economic traces. Zaps uses those traces to answer a different question:

<Statement>
  Who actually contributed?
</Statement>

## Activity, reputation, rights, markets [#activity-reputation-rights-markets]

<Chain label="The conceptual spine of all of Zaps" steps="['Activity', 'Reputation', 'Rights', 'Markets']" />

## Activity-derived rights [#activity-derived-rights]

Activity-derived rights already take several forms:

<Blocks
  numbered="false"
  items="[
  ['Rewards', 'Campaigns.'],
  ['Reputation', 'Rankings, Hall of Fame, clans.'],
  ['Seats', 'Won by activity in a market.'],
  ['Markets', 'Spot and, eventually, additional market structures.'],
]"
/>

Over time, successful zTokens may support additional trading and derivative surfaces.
